long weekend

well after a long holiday travel weekend, it is sure nice to get back home. Not much to report here really, other than we've started Christmas shopping and Alicia is digging into her gifts already! I had them sitting in the corner and then all of a sudden I see Alicia rummaging through my bags and I hear her pushing buttons on one of her soon-to-be xmas gifts. Oh well, kid tested and approved I guess ;) Alicia was a little upset when I took it away, but she'll get to play with it in no time really with the holidays quickly approaching. hope all of you have a great thanksgiving.

congrats Mike & Kristin

Last night we got to help our friends Mike & Kristin celebrate their wedding day! The kids sure had fun showing off their dance moves. Lucas and Carl have learned to take some steps recently, so it was cute to see all three start to move around more. We got a good picture of the kids all dressed up for the evening and boy, they all sure looked nice and so grown up ;) Below are Alicia and her boyfriends - Lucas, Paul, and Carl take a break from the action; and of course, Alicia showing off her dance moves!

Above, I think is one of our favorite pics of the night where Drew is carrying Alicia out from the reception just wiped out from all of the excitement, she just looks so precious. At that moment, you've got to wonder what those little ones are thinking and dreaming about... those are the times you forget that earlier in the day she had countless times where she wanted to not sit still at all- through the church ceremony and wanted to wander through the church, or the times when she really just wanted to walk and go by herself and not hold mommy or daddy's hand, or when you didn't really get to take your time to enjoy the meal at the reception, or have that drink you kept meaning to have, or take that one other picture of some friends you meant to, but forgot; but really, that's nothing compared...

Again, congrats to the newly married couple - Mike and Kristin!

happy 1st brithday, Reese!

Happy 1st Birthday, Reese!! A couple of weekends ago we celebrated Reese's birthday early. Alicia seemed to have a great time - running around and chasing her little buddy, Roger; eating birthday cake; and of course, wearing the oh, so cute party hat. The birthday girl, Reese, also seemed to fully enjoy her birthday cake as well ;)

smashing pumpkins?

the other day Alicia and I were outside playing on the deck, and I was trying to get a cute picture of her for my photography class I'm taking, and I happened to catch something funny... she was playing and checking out her little pumpkin, and picked it up like a ball and all of a sudden she lost her grip and the mini pumpkin went falling down off the deck. Well, the poor little pumpkin didn't make the fall, if I was thinking I should have took a picture of the smashed pumpkin on the driveway to show the whole chain of events, but the reaction of Alicia looking at the destruction was priceless.
