Alicia’s week with Jacques - the Cousteau class mascot

On Monday afternoon when mommy picked me up from school, I was very excited to show her our special room mascot, Jacques! It was my turn to take him home with me for a few days. When we got home, I introduced Jacques to my kitty cat, Tanner.

Later, when daddy got home I showed him my new friend from school. I was very happy to have Jacques at home. That evening, we read Jacques lots of books, here’s a picture of me and Jacques reading one of my favorite Curious George books before we went to bed.

On the way to and from school, I really enjoyed reading about my friends’ adventures with Jacques in the journal book.

Another one of my favorite things I like to do is dance, so Jacques and I danced the night away when we got home from school! We had a lot of fun spinning and jumping to the music. On Jacques’s last night visiting my house, mommy asked me what special treat I wanted to share with Jacques, and I said “Cookies!!” So mommy and daddy helped me make yummy cookies for dessert. I will really miss Jacques, but happy all my other friends will get to share their homes with him. Thanks for staying Jacques, come back again and visit soon!

bowling

A few weeks ago Alicia and I went bowling with daddy and Carl to "practice" for their bowling league that just started. Rachel and Carl N. also joined us while we were watching the daddies practice. Towards the end, Alicia really wanted to join daddy on the alley, so we thought, maybe? So I asked the people behind the counter a few questions, before I even brought up the idea to Alicia, as I was afraid she would get really mad if they said she couldn't bowl with daddy after I told her she could. After a quick conversation, Alicia and Carl both got fitted for shoes and they brought out a ball rack for the kids to use! We were surprised they actually had shoes small enough for Alicia and that they actually fit her well. She sure had fun showing off her new shoes :) such a girlie girl... :)
Both Alicia and Carl did a great job "bowling" by pushing their ball down the rack. The kids even managed to pick up a spare or two, and I think they got about a 90 for score which was great!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today's Heather's Birthday! I'm sure there are about 1 billion different ways which we could have celebrated it better, but I really appreciate Heather's willingness to let Daddy run his 1/2 marathon, even though her 5k was cancelled due to her health. She's awesome. The Kloss's came in to visit with Alicia while we went downtown. Alicia really enjoyed their visit.

Here are some semi-recent pictures of the birthday girl.

And then one of the birthday boy (tomorrow)

new bed for Alicia!

So we purchased a new twin bed for Alicia about a month ago now, and we are happy to report that Alicia is now for the most part sleeping in her room all night long! It's exciting for Mommy and Daddy to regain some room on the bed again, as Alicia loved to spread out and take up like 1/2 of our queen bed. Alicia really seems to like her new big girl bed, with her new princess sheets. She picked princess sheets over other Disney themes, like tinkerbell or cars, so it appears that we are in princess training....I will try and get a picture of Alicia's new bed and room transformed soon.

hello preschool!

Last Monday, Alicia started her new preschool class at her daycare. It was a big change for her switching and moving on up to this new class, as several of her close friends from daycare we no longer joining her in her class. I think she did a great job transitioning though, as she appeared to really like her new teachers, Karen and Sadia. As mentioned above, her partners in crime from her old daycare room, Carl and Lucas, are not in her new room. It was a bit concerning at first, as we new she has had a good bond with them, and opens up and communicates with them well. But more and more as we talked about it, we knew that this is something that Alicia will eventually have to do and learn to handle change and be able to make new friends. This is a big milestone for her as she learns to meet new kids and start new friendships. While keep in mind, Alicia still gets to visit with Lucas and Carl on the weekends and even on the playground when the 2 preschool rooms share the outside time! You can see in one of the pictures below, she found her buddies the first day on the playground teeter-totter. So happy and sad feelings surround the new transition, but so far things are going well. Wish Alicia well in her new preschool room!
