Just a quick note for those inquiring minds, my endoscopy and biopsy results came back clean. My tummy and other inside particulars are just fine for the time being. My special tummy doc just wants me to eat more and eat even more fattier and calorific foods when I do eat.... if any body has any suggestions to buff up mealtime, we are ready to listen :)

my turn to play MarioKart...
here's Alicia reading a book to Samantha, Alicia had the book originally and Sam came up next to her while she was reading it, it was pretty cute. They actually were kinda shall I say the word, "sharing?"
the girls were enjoying the kid table a lot :) ...all smiles...
whew... what a long day, Alicia didn't really nap earlier that day and boy, she was out on the floor... I know, we were kinda mean, but it's so hard to get a good comparison length shot anymore of her laying on the floor. Note, of length - Elmo is about 28 in long, so I think Alicia is darn close to 30 inches. very scientific, eh?

Saturday night fun
Saturday night my friend from work, Nicole, and her husband, Chris, (and their son, Roger) came over to visit. Alicia really got along with Roger well, I was almost surprised, as sometimes, she can be a bit reserved with other kids. But the two of them played together really well :) Roger kept calling Alicia "baby" so that was cute, but really he's only a few months older than her. The kids stayed up later than normal that night and got pretty goofy actually, we were afraid they were going to get cranky, but they did awesome and Alicia actually slept that night :) wohoo!

All Done.
Well,
Alicia had her "procedure" today. They placed a camera (endoscopy) down her throat, and took a biopsy on her stomach. We don't have the results back, (not till next week), but the doctor said it was visually OK. Also, her "Sweat" test from a few weeks ago came back OK as well.
Here are a few pics of Alicia waiting for the procedure. She was quite entertaining to be around after she drank some of the medicine to relax her before anesthesia. She was laughing, and talking. She was very relaxed. I wish we could get her to a somewhat relaxed state @ other times. So we are at home now relaxing and she's doing rather well considering it all.

Sitting in the chair watching TV

Sitting with Elmo. (Elmo's wearing her ID band)

Holding onto Mommy, in her scrubs, (thermometer sticker on her forehead).

Can't forget about the wagon ride, this was the kiddy wheel chair. She was waiting for Carl or Lucas to pull her, but she had to settle for daddy.
She wasn't fond of her attire - she thinks they need more
fashionable surgery wear.

At the park with my friends.
Below are some pictures from the kids spring get together, this past weekend. We visited the Bormets, and Carl, Lucas, Kaylee, and Alicia were able to hang out at the park near their house. Sorry for the cropping on some of the pictures, but its due to the collage software that generated it. If you would like an individual picture, please let us know the row and column.

go cardinals!
Last night we went up to Milwaukee to watch the Cardinals play the Brewers. It was a pretty fun. Alicia was having a good pre-game, she had fun dancing and clapping along to the music and all, and of course, eating her hot dog. :) Then, once the game started, Alicia was not a fan of the loud speaker systems or the fireworks... they were much louder than the pre-game activities. She was having such a great time and then the fireworks started part of the game and she freaked out, we felt so bad for her, she was very upset. I think the announcers and the crazy music everytime a Brewers' batter was up to bat scared the heck out of her.. poor thing.. maybe it was just she wanted the Cardinals to be back up to bat.. Oh yeah, and the Cardinals did win, 4-3.
Alicia playing in the playground at Miller Park. There was a lot of crazy kids running around there, so she didn't get to play too much. She was a little fish in big pond.

Alicia enjoying the game and sitting in her own big girl chair :)

Not sure how this picture came about, but it looks pretty cool.

science fair
Alicia's daycare had a science fair the other night when I picked her up. Each classroom did something exploratory - it was pretty cool, even the youngest kids did something. Just to name a few I think the youngest kids did some dirt exploration, and color squishing and mixing in bags, while Alicia's class did object density, where they dropped items in a pail of water and watch them float or sink, while Lucas and Carl's class did some bird feeder recycling projects. Here's Alicia showing me their class project and enjoying dropping some items in the water.
Afterwards, all the kids got to enjoy some ice cream cones, in which Alicia really enjoyed. She seemed to really like the sugar cone, too, for once and not just eat the ice cream that it was holding inside. :)

(sorry for picture quality, as I only had my camera phone that day with me.)

more
well just a quick note, today when I picked Alicia up from daycare her teacher told me that Alicia talked today! She said "more" at breakfast. The teachers only give the kids one serving at a time, and make them ask for more if they want more and well, Alicia loves her breakfast sausage, so she actually said the "word" more rather than just motioning for more. How exciting! way to go, Alicia and keep it up.

more weekend fun...
We had a nice afternoon-early evening at the Bormets tonight, where the kids were really having a lot of fun despite some crazy sharing issues.. but that's the age. So we tried to just roll with the tough moments and turn it into more fun for the kids, such as in the wagon "sharing" that turned tears into laughter :) The kids were taking turns pulling each other in a very small wagon, it was actually kinda funny how they seemed to squish themselves into this wagon, that was intented for blocks, but it proved to be just the right size for them all.
Here's a video below of Lucas being a gentleman and taking Alicia for a nice ride in the hallway :)
Now Lucas was a turn, so Carl tries his hand at pulling him :)
Kidpile!!

Poor Carl was taking the brut of it all, but he was a trooper for the most part!

busy weekend
Thursday night Alicia (and daddy) entertained the boys at the house while the mommies all went shopping at the Carter's 3.99 outlet sale! wohoo, new clothes :) Here's the kids enjoying supper sitting at Alicia's kitchen table.

Trips back home to Iowa lately have been a little bit different for Alicia. She is sure no more baby. She no longer sleeps the entire trip and starts to get a bit antsy. So lucky for us, we have a DVD player in our van, unfortunately Alicia still does not sit face-forward yet, so she can not watch an unlimited amount of Elmo and Disney videos during the trip. In to save the day is our portable DVD player that can just sit right in her lap and provide hours of viewing entertainment (and a quite ride for mommy and daddy).

Friday night we stopped into visit some of the family and Alicia found an organ at Aunt Vi and Uncle Bob's house which she absolutely loved! Grandma Bev and Alicia played for quite some time.

Speaking of Grandma's, this weekend we went to a birthday party for Great-Grandma Kluesner! We got to see quite a few relatives and had a lot of fun, Happy 90th birthday GG!

storytime

(I'm sorry the quality isn't too great as it was taken with my phone.)
The other morning I was taking Alicia to daycare and happened to look back at her and she was busy jibber-jabbing in the back. To my surprise, she found one of her books and I guess she was reading me a story on the way to work. :) it was pretty cute... (and yes, safety patrol - I was stopped at a really long red light when I took this picture - we were not moving... )

happy birthday, uncle tony!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Tony!
(this is a bit of an old picture, but it is still pretty cool, we liked the whole Cubs-Cardinals theme together :)
Maybe Uncle Tony will get us get a new picture this summer and possibly Alicia can wear Cubs gear as she always seems to get some for her birthday from our Cubs-friends.Tuesday, April 8, 2008
oops, I forgot
Here's Alicia showing Grandma how she plays with the Nintendo DS. Alicia actually knows how to use the stylus the right way and can make some scribble marks on the screen :)

getting into things

so Alicia lately has really been enjoying "getting into things" - not just the normal making a mess-getting into things, but literally getting into whatever she can fit into or sit on top of or into. With her pint size, she literally can fit into just about anything she wants. It is pretty cute... and no, I do not have any say so or help on getting her into these situations! It is all Alicia. :)
