new tooth...

This one goes out to all of those that think Alicia has the smallest mouth in the world-- check out this picture! she actually can really open her mouth that big :) no photoshoping this one folks... :)

However, I did have to censor a bit from this other picture, as it was the only good one that I had of her new tooth. Unfortunately, as many of you parents know that along with the teething comes all of the other great stuff too... coughing, fever, sneezing, boogers, poop, and I'm sure a bunch of other things...

so here's a picture of her new tooth :)

Alicia's note: I really can open my mouth when I want to...and I want to say thanks to my awesome mommy for censoring my boogies out of this picture...as I really didn't want the whole internet world to see them too...

good news-I'm just a small peanut...

Alicia's pediatrician called us today and said all of her blood test results came back good. The only ones that they may want to redo in the next month or so was her blood sugar one and a liver enzyme one. (I don't really know what either of these tests really determine, but it seems like they did a ton of tests just to rule things out.) They said her blood sugar results were on the lower side of normal, while the liver enzyme test was a bit on the higher side of normal, so they were of slight concern, but nothing we need to worry about We have another checkup next month for another weight check, so I'm sure we'll get more answers then, but we just wanted to share the good news with everyone.

playdate

Are my friends here
yet, mommy?

So today I had some of my friends over to play this afternoon, it was a great time. There wasn't too many hair-pulling brawls for mommy and her friends to break up, so we all played nicely together. We laughed, talked, stole each others toys, and I think at one time or another many of us pooped our pants, what a great time by all! By the end of the afternoon, we were all ready for naptime. Here's some pictures from our playdate.

hanging with the boys

Today was a big day for me, as I got to go to daycare and hang out with my buddies Carl and Lucas. Then later today, we all went to swimming lessons. I'll only be going to daycare once a week, but it was still pretty fun and it gives mommy some free time to get a lot of her work done. Mommy/Daddy weren't prepared enough this morning to get a picture of me at my daycare, so maybe next week, they can get a picture of me and my teachers and new friends at daycare. Here I am at swim lessons this evening chillin' out and hangin' on the side of the pool with my boyfriends, Lucas and Carl.

updates

Here's Alicia doing her newest weird facial expression... she kinda wiggles up her nose and squints her eyes when she is giggly lately... you can really see her two teeth in this picture if you look close. She is working on the top two teeth now, as the last few days have not been fun for her, it is the same ritual she went through for the first two- runny nose, drooling and sucking her thumb like crazy and not wanting to eat or sleep much. So hopefully we'll see a few more of those little chompers soon.
Another update, Alicia had her 1 year check up on last Friday, she is now 27.5 inches tall and still a lightweight coming in at a little under 14.5 lbs. She did great through her 2 shots, and only cried when the last shot was almost completely finished up. Well, Alicia's doctors wanted to run a few blood tests on her just to make sure everything is ok and she is growing at an ok rate...she is on the charts for her height, but not exactly close for her weight, so they want to double-check various levels, etc.etc.. to confirm that she is just a small petite baby and there is nothing medically hindering her growth rate. But overall they thought she was doing great, except for the weight. So today, Alicia had a visit to the hospital and had several vials of blood drawn (see her little tape on her arm... so sad... I think mommy was upset by it more than Alicia was) -she was a trooper, she didn't cry when they started the blood draw at all, she did about 2 vials great, and then by the third one she was getting antsy and wanted nothing to do with it, and started to cry, but wow, the lab techs and, of course, us, were so impressed with how brave she was. Then to top it off, Alicia's tears dried up as she showed off her cuteness to the lab techs as she drank the apple juice they gave her from a straw. They were indeed impressed with our little peanut.

1 year pictures

Here's the latest professional photos of Alicia. I'm not a big fan of the dark backdrop the photographer chick used this time around.... but she still looks pretty cute in these. I will definitely request a white or light backdrop next time...

Thank you to everyone that made my birthday party so special today. I appreciate all of your warm wishes and great gifts. I think I'll be the best dressed 1-year old around. Here's some pictures from my big day and some of my friends.
