A trip to Hanover IL

Last weekend, we made a trip back to Hanover IL, to visit with a few of Mommy's friends from High School and College that have came back to the area to visit. It was also a great time to visit with the Embry's (whom live in Hanover), as we never seem to find a good time to visit with them.

On Friday, we met up with Nikki and Nettie and families at (Handy) Manny's Pizza in Savannah IL. Alicia knows exactly what Manny's is as we drove by. We've only been there a few times, but she's really good at logo recognition. We visited and ate at Manny's for a bit, and then headed back to Netties in Hanover. There the kids were able to be kids for a bit, and the adults were able to hang out.

Also this weekend, Heather's friend (Kristina) from Junior High and School came back. We visited with her and her family for a few hours. Alicia really enjoyed playing with the kids, especially the car game. We will be visiting with them in a few weeks when we make our trip to California, so it was great for Alicia to get re-acquainted with them. We've seen Kristina and Matt a few times over the years, but its always good catching up with them.

Afterwards on our way out, we stopped off at Grandma Kloss's. Grandma thought it'd be fun to hit up the 4 wheeler, so thats what they did. Alicia really liked it as u can see in her face below. Afterwards billy came out and gave alicia a ride. Its really nice going back and having room to be able to get outside.

We then took the long trip back.. Drew listened to the Cardinals while the girls napped, cause the next day we say George, Elmo and other PBS characters at the PBS Run, (which i'm sure there'll be another blog about soon)

happy 2nd birthday to Adara!

Last month, we celebrated Adara's 2nd birthday with her mommy (Shannon) and daddy (Scott), along with a bunch of her friends at the Schaumburg rec center. The kids had a blast! The rec center really had a nice setup of things to do for the kids, which was good, as they entertained a variety of ages of kiddos with much success! They loved the ball pit, which turned more into like a kiddie mash pit as I think at one time, almost all the kids were piled into it. The tunnels and balance beam tried their gymnastic skills, while the playhouses and slides were a flurry of activity, too. They even had a stationary big wheel bike the kids enjoyed driving, well virtual driving that is :)
Thanks for a fun-filled afternoon and we hope your birthday was special, Adara!!

Adara loved pushing chairs around and helping out!

Swimming Lessons

Alicia has recently started swimming lessons at PSSWC and loves it. She really looks forward to swimming and seeing her friends at the pool.

In her class are 2 classmates, Maya and Lucas. Lucas's sister Megan is also swimming at the same time, however she swims with her mom in the other end of the pool. Alicia always looks forward to seeing her friends at swimming.

She's trying to float with the help of her instructors. She's having some issues with trust, but I give her credit for trying. On her back, she always wants to rest on her elbows, or keep her entire head out of the water, as you can see in the picture below. On her belly, she does great by staying flat (redlight legs), and kicks and blows bubbles.

Here's a few pictures of Alicia's class.
