little recital

So these pictures were from a month ago maybe, but it was still too cute not to post, as I forgot all about them until I downloaded my camera.. oops.. I should really do that more often. Anyways, in our recent visit with the Haney's, Alicia and Samantha had some fun playing with Katie's organ. I think we have some future musicians on our hands :)

i like to move it....dance party!

The kids sure enjoy dancing... the other night they decided to have their own dance party and show us their moves to the Madagascar movie songs...

Mommy got me a cake this morning from my favorite frosting, er I mean
cake shop! Yeah after valentines day sale!! She went for a couple of
cupcakes for me and instead got a cake, since it was practically
cheaper! Yeah frosting...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Alicia celebrated Valentine's day on Friday with her classmates and her teachers Mr. Jeff and Ms. Stacy. Even though Alicia doesn't normally go to daycare on Friday we decided to go at snack time and visit them anyways for the party :) The kids enjoyed their snacks that afternoon, and then they got special treat bags to color and design for their valentines. The kids each did a great job coloring them to make them their own special masterpieces.
Later that evening, we met up with some friends for some pizza. We got a special delivery pizza for the kids in the shape of a heart, as we thought they'd really like that. I think the mommys and daddys really liked the heart pizza too :)

Visit with Roger and Bruce!

We finally got to meet my friend Nicole's (and Chris) new baby boy!  Roger, who turns 3 this weekend actually, is a very good big brother to his new baby brother, Bruce. We haven't had a chance in awhile to have a playdate with them so it was very nice to get to hang out with them for awhile on Friday. Alicia and Roger got along great and even shared! Great job kids.

just chillin in bed...

Alicia had quite the captive audience in her bed yesterday when she was having a reading session with her friends. We were going through her animals and, boy, we sure have the assortment of stuffed friends. Since all the friends were in attendance she decided to read them one of her favorite books, "Five little monkeys bake a birthday cake" (i think it is also called "Don't Wake Up Mama"). Sorry no video this time, but maybe another reading, I'll be able to catch it.. basically, she does her own paraphrasing its cute for sure... where there's "cake book" and "make cake" and "monkeys" "oh-oh-ah-ah" and "mama" "shshsh" "mixmix, stir stir" and "frosting" and at one point the monkey's sneeze in the book and she knows what part that is, and she says "ah-choo--" on that page and then the monkeys sing happy brithday to mama and sometimes she'll try and sing, but that's hit or miss. Either way it was pretty fun to see her "read" to her animals...

Last Friday, Mandi and Kaylee came up to visit us and play at the indoor water area in Schaumburg. They had a parent-tot swim available for like an hour in the morning, so it was nice where there was some quieter time at the pool for the girls and we didn't have to worry about them getting run over by the big kids. It was sure a nice warm getaway for us compared to the below zero temperatures we've been having outside. The girls seemed to really enjoy the water for the first while, until they started to get cold and poor Alicia's lips were starting to turn a bit light blue cause she started to get cold! oops! but she seemed to be having fun until that cold factor set in, and she was like "i'm all done-- all done mommy" so I guess it was time to get out of the water.

Kaylee was brave enough to go up and down the slide! good job!! Alicia wasn't as excited about the slide because there was a lot of spraying water to get to the top of the slide, so she was like, 'no.no.no.' Alicia's favorite part was the little lazy river there and just the regular pool area where she could walk around and splash in the water.
