boys already....
Last weekend, we visited some of our friends and they also have a young boy, Evan, a few months younger than Alicia. Poor Alicia was not feeling up to herself that day, as she was really teething and didn't want to do much but to be held. Evan was trying to be the best friend a girl could have a tried everything to help her out that.. he tried hugging her, he shared his toys with her, he even tried to what we think "propose" to her as seen in the pictures below.. hehe. well, it was just so cute, she just stood there while he got on one knee and started pointing and "talking" to her... for two seconds she actually was content and wasn't too upset, it was cute. But it didn't last long once Alicia realized Evan didn't have a ring and that upset her again... well I think it was more of the teeth giving her pain, but it was a cute story.

odds n ends
Despite Sunday's big game performance, Alicia still had her cute game day outfit on. and she had the cutest hair too. I was able to get all of her hair into two pigtails without any left over hair in the back. Her hair is getting so long, but with her wavy curls it is difficult to see how long it really is until is is wet or brushed all the way out, it is crazy. In the second picture, this was Alicia's hair after we took out the tails :) I think she'd fit right in for an 80's hair band rock video with that teased out looking hair ;)
Also, Alicia has been loving to sit in chairs recently, maybe not for long periods of time, but at least she is getting used to sitting herself down. So I thought what a great time to introduce the potty chair. We aren't really doing the whole "potty training" thing, but we are letting her get used to sitting on it and maybe something will develop. :)
ps. We think Alicia actually slept through the night last night without a peep! No new teeth that we can see yet, but this was the first all night sleep since like Thanksgiving weeked... so hopefully she has learned a lesson, sleep is way more fun than crying for like three hours throughout the night..

game day
Last night we saw this church sign not to far from one of our friend's house.. thought it was classic and could not pass up taking the picture for a post today... it reads, "Dear Brett, It only takes one good throw to drop a Giant. - David"

Here's Alicia sporting an oldie of a shirt, when the Packers were in the playoffs in 2004... let's just hope for a better outcome this year. Go Packers :)

chase the kitty
Alicia and Tanner having some fun with the new tunnel. I think Tanner got into the tunnel before Alicia even got a chance at going through it. Either way, cat or kid toy, I think it has been worth the purchase already :)

prisoner in my own home
Miss Alicia has been all over the place lately. Even Tanner is seeking out new hiding spots...

Alicia loves the stairs, but she is do darn quick, it is just too hard to keep her off of them and it's starting to get crazy. So we had to break down and buy another gate.

Poor Alicia did not know what to do when she saw it except for the hello mini-tantrum. So, like a prisoner in jail... the little bitty hands and arms and sneak thru the bars reaching out for freedom...

goofy + good light = cute Alicia
Alicia's character sometimes really comes out. She has this little voice that God only knows (along with some other babies probably) what she is talking about...she just jibbers and jabbers. I'll try and capture this on video one of these days cause it is so darn cute, just unintelligible. Anyways, here's a few cute pics I took the other morning when the sunlight was just glowing through the windows so nice and warm, so, of course, it gave me some inspiration to take a quick few photos. Here's Alicia flashing her own rays of happiness...

new year's day
here's some group photos from our annual New Year's Day supper at the Suttmanns. What a good-looking group we have ;)
Boy the kids sure look grown up sitting by themselves in these chairs. I think it was the only time all night they actually sat still for more than two seconds.

our first Chicago Shamrox game
Tonight, we all went to our first Chicago Shamrox lacrosse game of the season, it was pretty fun. They play just up the road from us in the new Sears Centre, so we didn't have too far to go for it. We were a bit concerned going into it tonight, that Alicia may be a bit rambunctious for the game, but she did great and was very well behaved. I think she was showing off for her boyfriend (neighbor) Dave, and his wife Kim. She was flashing quite a few smiles that was for sure. Despite the Shamrock's loss, it was still a pretty interesting game to watch.

ketchup
well over the last few days, Alicia has started to explore her culinary experiences with ketchup :)
So far, she has had ketchup on hamburger, french fries, chicken, grilled cheese, and all of you Chicagoans are going to "love" this.. a hot dog. (well, pieces of one.) So far it appears as if she is like her mommy in the ketchup area, which is loving it.. so far I think she has licked off more ketchup than actually eating the items she dipped into it... go figure.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year's Everyone...
Well we were crazy enough this afternoon-evening to go to see the Zoo lights at Brookfield Zoo. Grandma Bev and Uncle Billy joined us in the snowy cold adventure, too. The lights were pretty, but it was chilly and definitely polar bear weather, as I think they were the only animals out having fun in this snowy cold mess! I think it snowed the entire time we were there, and poor Alicia was not in the mood to have fun, so it kind of made our trip shorter than expected, oh well, maybe another winter we will try. Alicia did not want to keep her gloves on either, as the look of disgust is shown on her face in the picture :)
