playdate with some friends

This last week, our friend Jenny and Reese hosted a playdate. Alicia probably had not seen these friends (Reese, Noah, Avery, and Roger) since Reese's 1st birthday a few months ago, so it was nice to see them all getting so big and changing! Reese's little cousin Noah was also there, who just loved to give Alicia kisses and lovin' but Alicia wasn't so sure about it... most of the time she gave him the "talk to the hand" gesture and moved on. I think Noah was able to successfully give her maybe one kiss or hug out of the whole day of trying. It was adorable.

Roger's mom, Nicole, was the hot seat for awhile when they all gathered around for a story :) I think Alicia and Roger both were fighting over Nicole's lap :) Here's the kids anxiously waiting pizza for lunch and enjoying their goldfish appetizers and milk. They all look so grown up sitting at the table, they all did so well!
And how do you get 5 kids under the age of 2 1/2 to stop what they are doing and freeze? Turn on Johnny and the Sprites :) (btw Johnny fans, the dvd is now out in stores)

And who could forget a picture of cute little Avery that day, what a doll, I think she looks a lot like her older brother, Noah, with those sweet eyes.

peeps

year 1
here was Alicia and her enjoyment of peeps last year...even though they were just stuffed peep animals she still liked them http://just4alicia.blogspot.com/2007/04/peeps.html

year 2

pure sugar enjoyment of her first official peep. i know it isn't like a classic color which was probably yellow or pink like i got when i was younger, but i think blue fit just right for Alicia.

yummmm

an egg-crackin' time

Well, the egg-coloring experience wasn't as great as hoped, but she tried until frustration set in. I found this cool egg spinner than worked like a top so she could just push the big yellow button on top and the egg would spin around with this colored gel in it. On the video, she attempted to draw on the eggs with crayons, but it got a crazy... as you'll see... I think she watched mommy one too many times in the kitchen preparing meals...

happy easter

Happy Easter!
We didn't think Alicia was ready for a "real" Easter egg hunt this year so we did our own with her... she enjoyed walking around with her bucket of eggs and handing them out at first, then finally after we dumped them out on the floor everywhere she decided that its fun to throw the eggs in her basket. :) Tanner was even getting into the festive spirit and knocking a few eggs around :)

the look

A few weekends ago we went back home to Iowa, and during the stay Alicia got to hang out with her cousin, Amara. Alicia was napping at first when Amara came to visit, so we decided Alicia had enough naptime, so and we woke her up so that she could play with Amara. Alicia showed us the funniest looks. Alicia gave everyone the evil eye for abit, but then finally after some coaxing by others, she warmed up again and decided to wake up and play. But man it was sure funny at first.

how many kids....

how many kids can fit in the one box together.... is it 3 kids or wait, I think it's 4 kids :)

Lucas, Carl and Alicia all wanted read books the other night and of course, they all wanted to sit on the same chair. We managed to pile them all together for a few minutes atleast, before they got territorial again and wanted their own space :)

Mommy saw this shirt and thought it was perfect for me...since we aren't exactly Irish, I thought it was more fitting... "Kiss me I'm American" :)

happy birthday Grandpa!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Mike!

Here's me and Grandpa the last time we were visiting, he was showing me how to use the treadmill :)

got ice cream part 2?

I forgot all about these fun photos here.. i wanted to add from last weekend - we managed to go out for supper with a good number of our friends and all of the kids - it was pretty fun, but I'm sure Chevy's was sure glad to see the party of like a dozen finally leave for the evening and free up some tables :) The kids seemed to do pretty good, especially when they got mini ice cream cones with their meals! :) how fun!

Lucas eating his cone the most unconventional way ;)Alicia dives right into the good stuff! :) While Carl goes for a the most refined way of eating his cone ;)

got ice cream ?

Over the weekend, me and my buddy Evan got to hang out and play. We had a lot of fun - we played with like every single one of my toys and made a big sea of toys of the floor, we danced together, and then ate ice cream!

Who likes my ice cream - milk mustache ?!

puddin'

Pictures say it all here... I had a hard time choosing which ones I loved the most... Alicia and I really had a fun afternoon today making some pudding. Luckily you can't mess up instant pudding too bad. ;) Alicia was having a blast, stirring and swooshing and slopping the pudding around. She had some great facial expressions too that I captured for your enjoyment. Amazingly enough we made it through the entire pudding-making experience without a complete mess. :)

hello March

Hello March -

Where did February go? It seemed just like Valentine's Day a few posts ago, but now it is almost St. Patty's Day. What is with all of this snow still sticking around and the snowdrifts at Grandma and Grandpa's house that are almost taller than me?!

I can start to see some grass by my house, but it is way too muddy for me to play in still. So I'm just putting the call in to turn up the heat just a bit and start melting this snow as I'd like to go outside and play more.

Thank you very much, Alicia
