root, root, root for the home team....

Well, this is way long overdue post, maybe I was just afraid of the consequences of this post or something.. like the ridicule, embarrassment, rumors flying around that I'm a closet Cubs fan, etc.etc.. we could go on...hahaha. But really, many people were looking forward to this day to see Alicia in Cubbie blue, not to mention mommy dotting the Chicago logo as well. Anyways, what happened you say to bring this occasion? Well, I happened to score a pretty nice ticket package last week from Best Buy. We got put into the Schaumburg store drawing for being one of their best rewards zone customers, and we won! We basically got 2 free tickets, plus one for Alicia, as well as some great memories. We got to go to actually step on Wrigley Field and then go into the Cubs dugout and sit for a few minutes to get our picture taken. Not to mention, we got to meet and greet two of Chicago's current players, Carlos Marmol and Geovany Soto and we got to meet a Cubs retiree, Bill Madlock. And we came away with like 5 autographed balls from these guys as well. I felt like a ball boy when we left that night, since my bag was exploding and was getting heavy from all of these baseballs!! Anways, we got to enjoy the Cubs batting practice, which was pretty cool to just watch how the guys warm up and all and the fact that hardly anyone is able to watch the Cubs batting practice because they do it before the gates even open up, so it was a treat. We also got to enjoy some tasty ballpark food at I think it was called Sheffield Grill inside Wrigley. Alicia got to enjoy her very first Wrigley Field hotdog.. :) Our seats then were pretty decent as well, we were in section 108, about 20 rows or so from the field on the 3rd base side. Pretty nice views and close to foul ball territory. It really was a fun time, I think mommy and Alicia enjoyed it more than daddy did, but that was we got into the whole Cubs Spirit more than he did I think.. haha... daddy wasn't going down that road. I say why not once in a great while, root on the home team....

Glad you had a fun time. Too bad you didn't go into the visitor dugout. Astros are the best! Sorry to hear about the losing streak both the cubs and cards are in. Go Astros! :)
