party time

A few weeks ago Alicia's classmate from daycare, Jake, had a birthday party at Pump It Up. For those who don't know, Pump It Up is a place that holds parties and such where they have all of those big inflatable bouncy things to climb up, slide down, crawl through, etc... The kids seem to have a great time despite some of the obstacles being a bit too big for them to master, but it was still a good challenge for them. Below are pictures of Alicia, Carl, and Lucas enjoying the big slide there. We even got Megan out for a bit in a much smaller bouncy thing, you can see a picture of that on the other link. Follow the link for more fun pictures of the kids playing around.
And yes, in the pictures you'll see that Drew and I were in the midst of the inflatable madness. We had to "save" the kids a couple of times when they got stuck and couldn't make it up some of the obstacles. It was fun, but wow, what a workout for a not even 3 year old to be able to do!

easter pics

Here's some recent pictures from the Easter weekend. On Saturday, Elizabeth had an Easter egg hunt where we had the earlier picture on the blog from where Alicia wasn't a big fan of the bunny quite yet. Alicia seemed to really enjoy the egg hunt that morning, despite the chilly temperatures early on. The egg hunt was at the park, where the 1-2-3 year olds got to hunt in one part, while the 4-5-6 years olds were in another part. Alicia's group had their eggs hidden amongst the swings, slides, and actual playground equipment, which seemed a bit odd, as the other older kids had it in the wide open area...ok, sure, but hey, they all seemed to have fun. However, kids like Alicia that get easily distracted by the swings and playground, had no chances of any egg collecting! As she picked up maybe 3 eggs, before she just wanted to play. Oh well!! She still enjoyed her egg hunt with us and Uncle Billy. She perfected her egg hunting skills, as on Easter Sunday after church, she got to attend a much smaller egg hunt and actually picked up quite a few eggs that morning! (I'll try and post some pictures for that later, as those are still on my phone which I need to transfer over to post.)
Also, you'll see in the pictures, Alicia enjoying her bubbles. Grandma Karen and Grandpa Mike got Alicia some bubbles in her Easter basket and she was just loving them! Fun entertainment for all as we watched Alicia chase bubbles all over their backyard.

I want mickey shirt

Oh boy, we almost had a crisis this morning. Alicia had her mickey pjs
on last night and this morning I was getting clothes out for her we
were discussing options... Minnie shirt, cupcake shirt, princesses
shirt, cardinal shirt, elmo shirt, pooh and darby shirt, etc. "
no,no,no," was all I heard, so I asked whatcha ya want then? She
promptly replied" I want mickey shirt " geez, after the laundry list
of character shirts, no mickey how could that be...I have absolutely
no mickey shirt to our surprise in her collection. Only mickey shirt
we have was her pjs we just took off...so luckily it was fairly clean
so that's what went on so miss Alicia would not be running shirtless
all day. :p

Alicia's home "sick"

Yesterday, Ms. Stacey called us just before the end of the day, to inform us we need to pick up Alicia since she vomitted at daycare. Atleast she waited till the end of the day.... last nite was pretty uneventful, she was pretty lathergic, so Alicia ate a little and unfortunately had some milk.

The milk came "up" about 8pm... And the grape pedialite we gave her afterwards came "up" soon after. It was best smelling "up" i've had to deal with in a while. Grape is better to deal with than the other... sorry bout that note....

then last nite was rougher than normal, as she just freaked out all nite. Mommy put one of those thermometer stickers under alicia's armpit, and it noticed that the temperature wasn't out of range..... so she went to work, and i'm here working at home, as well as watching alicia....

then the real alicia stood up... about 8:00, she rips off the sticker and says... "I want mickey"... Miska Mouska.... and runs downstairs... I don't think she's back to normal yet... but she's showing signs of life....

we'll find out more after she gets some food.. but anyways.. back to work.

happy easter everybody!

Hi Everyone, happy easter! We hope you all had a nice and relaxing day with your families! We had a nice trip back home to Dubuque and Elizabeth and got to see some family. We will have more pictures later from the weekend, but here's one I had on my phone from the Easter Egg hunt in Elizabeth on Saturday. Alicia wasn't so found of getting her picture taken with the Easter Bunny and sitting still. Oh well, what can you expect from an almost 3 year old!?
