Blokus
Alicia has been enjoying a new game lately called Blokus. It is one of mommy and daddy's favorite strategy games. Daddy has been teaching Alicia how to play it recently and she has been doing really well with the simple rules, minus the crazy strategy techniques, but it's a start. She has learned the basics, such as corners must touch for it to be a legal play, etc.. Alicia even showed her friends, Megan and Lucas how to play Blokus as well! The hardest part is to keep all those darn little puzzle pieces accounted for and on the table!

Dentist visit
Alicia did a pretty awesome job today at the dentist considering our last trip there. (last time, we basically had a major sensory meltdown:( so this was big improvement.) Alicia let the dentist count, check, and brush her teeth! We discussed with dentist how the "loud" sounding things really scared her, so we settled on getting the basic clean with the good ole scrubbing with a toothbrush by the dentist. Hey, it's baby steps...
Alicia thought she had 26 teeth when the dentist asked her how many she had, so she wasn't too far of when they counted 20! Great job, Alicia.

Fuzzy pjs
As Alicia was picking out her pjs tonight, she came downstairs with these in hand...
Alicia: "mommy I want me and ben to match"

Doesn't this just want you to get your own pair of fuzzy-footed pjs and curl up too?? ;-)
Alicia and her big sister quilts
Check out Alicia's cool new big sister quilts!
Our friend, Tomi, made this colorful puzzle-like pattern quilt for Alicia. Even though Alicia has only had it for about a month now, she loves to use it for making tents, laying on it for tummy time with Ben, snuggling, and the recent usage was a makeshift princess carriage/coach. :) I think I took a picture of her doing that recently, so hopefully in a another blog near you, we'll show off the "royal coach."

Tomi also made this adorable quilt for Ben. I love the pattern, it has puppy dogs and cute brown/blue patterns.

Thanks Tomi!!

This last year, mommy had been working on a "big girl" quilt to fit Alicia's new bed. Alicia helped pick out the designs and I had finally pieced them together and just before Ben was born, we got it finished. I was happy I was able to get it done before Ben was born, as I wanted it to be a special gift for her. I had enlisted some help... I did the quilt top, while Tomi assisted with the backer and put the finishing touches on it. Mommy wasn't brave enough to tackle the quilting of this one on my own either, due to the size of this quilt, so I enlisted in the help of the quilter friend of Tomi's to bind it all together. So here's Alicia and her new quilt for her bed!

"Mommy I still fit..."
Mommy: "Umm. Alicia, I think you are a tad too big for this..."
Alicia: "But mommy, I still fit...it is fine"
