Well this week, Ali was a little trooper once again. A few months back you all might remember she had her sleep study done and basically after we had gotten the results back from that, her sleep doctor sent us to a pediatric neurologist to have a referral. The neurologist, who is affialiated with Children's Memorial, works out of the Central DuPage Hospital a few times a week, seemed pretty cool in our first initial visit with him. Because of the central sleep apnea initial diagnosis from the sleep study, he wanted to run a few follow-up tests just to make sure things are ok. Alicia had the one done this week, which was the EEG, which basically watched the brain wave movements while she napped. Shewas way awesome there! She did just a great job sitting there while they were sticking the little eletrodes to her head! The first time she had this done, months ago, she had a fit! I guess she has "matured" a bit in age.. haha.. or it was the fact that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was luckily playing at the same time on the tv while the technichans were attaching the electrodes. Anyways, after only being allowed to sleep for a few hours the night before since we had to sleep deprive her, she fell fast asleep after a little bit of snuggling with mommy and then daddy and then with mommy again. whew.. atleast she fell asleep and the techs got the data they needed for the EEG and we hopefully are all done with that test! Wish us luck as hopefully we'll hear back from her neurologist in the next few days!
Here's Ali braving the EEG, "what a nice hair cap you have, my dear" :)
afterwards, she got a sucker for being such a great patient! yummo.. "mine, mommy" was all I heard. She did not want to give that up when we got in the van to go home. Then we went out to lunch afterwards, and we decided it was a hat day since her hair was sooo crazy from all of the goo that went into it. "No need for embarassment here folks, got a bad hair day, a hat does the trick..."
