cookie decorating

finally, here's what a few of our sugar cookies actually looked like after Alicia and I finished them.
Here's Alicia making frosting in a baggy, fun squishy times :)

Then shaka shaka shake, time to put the sprinkles on, I think this part was Alicia's favorite.. well let me rethink that.. I think the eating of the cookies was her fav...

Let it snow..

Well,

Daddy took a lunch break today and Alicia, Mommy and Daddy went out in the snow for some play time.  It was the first time alicia went out in this snow this year, and come to think of it.. she probably didn't know what she was doing last year.   Mommy bought her a sled (with seat belts) so we were able to take multipe trips up and down the hill next to our house, as well as down the running path....

Heather may update this post with better pix from the good camera, but here are some from the iphone.  Enjoy.

cookie making

Alicia was helping me out in the kitchen last night with some good ole cookie making. (well actually only making the dough, since these sugar cookies needed to sit overnight before we bake them today.) Alicia was doing such a great job! As you can see from the pictures, she was helping me find recipes in the cookbook, and then measuring and scooping sugar, flour, and then stirring the cookies! I think her favorite part though was the clean-up, she helped putting the dishes in the sink and then was at the kitchen sink for what seemed forever, "helping" clean the dishes, well, just splishing and splashing really in the sink with the soap and dishes, but it sure looked like she had fun.

happy st. nick's day

well in honor of St. Nick's Day, I thought I'd post a picture of Alicia and good ole Santa. We went to see Santa this year at the Walmart where Grandma and Aunt Mary works. This is my plug for the day if you haven't taken the kiddos out to see Santa yet, try your local Walmart this weekend. I thought I saw online that he's there this weekend still. It sure does beat the long Santa lines in the big malls, plus, you get a free picture from Santa for visiting! Such a great deal!

Ok, so back to Alicia and the dude in red... At first, Alicia and I walked up to him and she pretty much held on to me not wanting to get very close. Sure we've been talking about Santa and have seen a few picture book with him in it, but I still think she's at the "holy crap, who is this" stage of understanding Santa. She did say "ho-ho-ho" to him, so that's good recognition, I guess. So after the first denial of sitting on Santa's lap, mommy called reinforcements in, and had Grandma come over (since she knows this Santa well) and it seemed to help a little bit. Alicia atleast then would sit with Grandma next to Santa for a quick picture. Hopefully Alicia emailed Santa her list this year because I don't think she waited enough to tell Santa in person what her list was. She got her candy cane and was like that's enough.

i kinda felt like the prince from cinderella....

Well this fairy tale finally got its ending... I've been on a search, all throughout retail land, trying to find the bestest, warmest, and not to mention tiniest pair of snow boots in the land... Our miss princess Ali has tiny feet as you all know.... really how many 20-lb kids are running through the snow at this age/size... well, not many.. I've searched store after store after store and the closest i could find was a huge size 5 or a just right-sized 4 pair of boots, er, should I say foot covers that would not repel and evil white stuff.... so the story continues... Trying to get a 2 and odd months old kid to try on boots at a store is just painful, so I ended up accumulating roughly 4 pairs of boots at home, in hopes something would work..

These were the 3 shall we say evil "stepsisters"... A brown pair of suede boots which almost fit.. a pair of rather large pink boots that no way could fit her this year, and an ever so styling cute pair of light-weight flowered rain boots, just incase we could somehow use these for snow in a pinch...
Well long story short, after several shoe fittings and a few pairs returned to the store, we finally find our perfect fit!! I managed to find a very small size 5 pair of snow boots that actually worked and were cute! She actually wanted to wear them and try them on.. as the others she kicked off in no time.. So again, after horrible shoe fittings, and what felt like weeks of searching and 8 stores later, we finally made a fit!
And the winner is...
these fun black boots from JcPenneys!
Check out my new boots! Now, I'm ready for snow!!
yeah!!
