Kohl Children's Museum visit

Last Sunday we went up to the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview and met up with the Fosco's. There was sooo much for the girls to do up there it was crazy. Alicia and Zoey explored quite a few areas of the museum before they both started running on empty and needed a nap! They played in the library, the veterinarian clinic, the boat, the construction playhouse, the water area, and probably the two favorite areas for the girls' was the music area and the grocery store. I think even with all of that activity, we only hit maybe half of the exhibits they have there!

Zoey, who is just over a year old, seemed to really enjoy Alicia's company. It was cute to see Alicia and Zoey interact with each other even though there is about 2 years difference between them. I think one of Alicia's first comments to me about Zoey was "she's cute," "she's small, I'm big" which was way too funny, as there are not a lot of younger kids that she knows that are actually smaller than her. They may be younger, but most are much bigger than her. As we were leaving Alicia's comment was "that was fun," so I have a feeling we will be going again soon.

Well, I can't wait for our next trip there... I think my planned visit to here will be one of Fridays coming soon this spring.. If anyone wants to join us in meeting Curious George during their storybook hour let me know and we'll make a trip out of it. http://www.kohlchildrensmuseum.org/visit/events/storybooks/cg-jan29

new year's 2010

The new 2010 year started out with a lot of fun and friends. We attended the annual Suttmann New Year's Day extravaganza and had a yummy meal and lots of gift exchanging for the kiddos. This year I thought I'd do a little something different, and decided to give the kids each a handmade gift. Kaylee and Megan got some cute tutu skirts, while Lucas and Carl got superhero capes. Alicia was my guinea pig and lucky her, got a cape and a tutu skirt :)
The usual, the pickle hunt was a success. I think for the second year, I managed to track down the pickle in the tree and this year the prize was a cute 4-pack of Winnie the Pooh Pez dispensers. Which instantly became a hit with the little ones eying them up.. I was in the holiday mood and decided to share them with the bigger kids, sorry, Megan, no pez treats for you yet.. :( While I thought I was sharing others called it an ulterior motive, as I told the kids if they sat nicely for a picture and smile, I'd give them treats.. lol... so I got my annual kids on the couch picture in an orderly fashion!! I call that success! :)

Also that weekend, Alicia got to play with her other friends, Samantha and Everett. Again, the girls, really liked their "princess" dresses and were enjoying dancing in their "pretty" skirts.

Christmas - part 2

more family and Christmas fun...

Christmas eve - part 1

Well this Christmas trip was an adventure that's for sure.. we hit a bunch of snow, sleet, ice, rain and just about everything mother nature could throw at us while on our drive back to Iowa. While the drive wasn't too exciting or fun by all means, we had a nice trip.

Alicia playing in the snow while staying at Grandma and Grandpa Kluesners house in Dubuque.

Grandma Karen showing Alicia how to feed her new baby doll.

Grandpa Mike showing off his Iowa basketball tickets! Drew, Tony and Papa all went to the game last week. I think Papa really liked his gift!

"thomas!" that was one huge book!

Alicia wearing like her 3rd dress change of the evening... she is such a girlie girl somedays...
