Someone's following in Daddy's footsteps

Well,

Miss Alicia has recently had 2 instances that will remind a few people of her daddy.

Instance 1:  Me!  (See video below).  But when i was her age.. I thought my name was "You".  Alicia thinks her name is "Me".  We are working on correcting this, but its really cute... I think she's trying to take after Great-grandma Alice here by calling herself "Me" (reference to scrabble scores)

Instance 2)
Daddy spent atleast 5 years of my life sleeping on a couch. (mostly in my college years), and often times besides that.... Alicia's been having a rough time sleeping lately, so recently we've just let her wear herself down, and we picked her up later.  The first few times we did this, she crashed on the floor, but last nite was really cute.. she crashed on the chair in her room.  She must have climbed up and fell asleep.  I almost didn't want to move her cause she looked so comfortbale.  Here's a pic

Going on 32

So Alicia is closing near the 32 month neighborhood, but we think she is pushing more of the 32 years old category. The last month or so, she has begun to turn up the heat on the spunk, attitude, stubbornness, and well like others say your daughter is strong-willed. And mommy just wonders how she can put up with both Drew and Alicia. As that's where she gets it from.

The latest story is from daycare this week. Mr. Jeff and Ms. Stacey gave some popsicle sticks to Alicia to give to the classmates for the upcoming art project. Well... the problem here is that they asked Alicia to give it to her friends.... So (as the story goes), Alicia tracks down Carl and Lucas and gives them their popsicle sticks, and then just holds the rest and just looks at her other classmates. I guess it was one of the first times that Alicia has made a preferential treatment to Lucas/Carl at daycare. Not that we are encouraging this behavior as we want her to be friends with all (and she is for what we can tell), it was definitely a cute story.

Here are some pics from the art project @ daycare that day.
Of course who else is she sitting by, other than between Lucas and Carl. :)

Alicia and George

Alicia and George - also known more like "zeorje" to Alicia.
Lately, Alicia has taken a liking to the little ole Curious George. I recall picking up George (well, actually I remember Alicia snagging George near the check-out and didn't want to let go of him) a few months ago in November at a local Kohl's. Kohl's had their Kohl's Cares for Kids Program and who could resist that little stuffed monkey. Anyways, after that Alicia has been toting him around a little bit, nothing too extreme, but if she has a choice of an animal, she might choose him over Elmo nowdays. I mean he is cute, brown and cuddly...even our Tanner cat has decided to curl up with him a few times as well ;) Ok, back to George, I'm perfectly fine with her taking him in, as most of you know I'm employed by the parent company of George. Unfortunately, my day to day work has NOTHING to do with him or even books by that means, but that's ok. So over the last few years, I've been collecting a few Curious George books, nothing crazy, but she does have about a dozen or so books in her library all about George and the curious things he does. Over the holidays, we gave Alicia's daycare class a gift of George board books for her class to enjoy. So far, it sounds like they've been a hit, so it is pretty cool to see them get some great use out of them too.
So the adventures of George and Alicia... Lately, she's been looking at the books more and of course, reading them with George. He went to daycare with her the one day I believe, he has gone back to Iowa, and he even does puzzles with Alicia and goes for stroller walks around the house with her :) haha.. George's biggest adventure with Alicia was probably when she went to the hospital for the MRI back in late November. Note in the picture, I find it quite funny now, because in the movie and books, H.A. and Margret Rey refer to George belonging to the man in the yellow hat and suit, and Alicia's hospital garb that day was all yellow..too funny.... Well on to more adventures....

christmas recap

Well this year we did 4 Christmas visits in 4 days! We were quite busy, but still had a great time visiting everyone. Amazingly enough we made it to all of the places we wanted to go despite all of the snow, sleet, ice, fog, rain, and everything else that mother nature decided to throw at us over the holiday. However, it appears as if i was a bit of a slacker in some of the photo department this year, as I managed to not capture a family picture of me, Drew and Alicia this Christmas... boohoo... :( so here's some others from the crazy holiday madness instead..

snow day pictures finally

Well, this is just a follow-up post from a few weeks ago that I thought I'd get up before I completely forgot about these cute pictures. As you can tell from the look on her face in some of these, Alicia had a good time out in the snow. I'm so glad her snow suit fit her again this year, as she didn't grow that much that we had to buy a new one for this winter! yeah, what a money savings! Plus, it was like new and it was too cute not to get more use out of this year. Note, we have NO snow left here anymore.... I'm glad we got a couple of good hours of sledding in with this first snow, but it was not really good snowman snow that time, maybe another snow this winter we'll get to build a snowman in our courtyard.
